  • First council meeting and election of the mayor
    The General Code for Local Authorities stipulates that the first municipal council meeting shall be held automatically no earlier than Friday and no later than Sunday following the election. In municipalities where only one round of voting is held, the council shall meet no earlier than 20 March and no later than 22 March. In municipalities where a second round of voting is necessary, the council shall meet no earlier than 27 March and no later than 29 March. At this first meeting, the municipal council shall elect the mayor and deputy mayors.
